You are only 25 minutes drive from the Petrified Forest at Curio Bay or
Waikawa where the boat "Dolphin Magic" can be chartered.
It is
just another 10 minute drive and
a
short walk to Slope Point, the
southernmost
tip of the South Island.
A 15 minute drive leads you to Waipapa Lighthouse, which marks the scene of
New Zealand's worst
civilian
shipwreck. At this point you are able to
view sea lions,
wildlife and sea birds.

attractions include numerous bush wallks, waterfalls and the Cathedral Caves

Trout fishing in the world renowned Mataura River is within easy driving
distance.
On the cliffs at the mouth of the Mataura River is the Golf Course at
Fortrose commanding stunning views of Foveaux Strait and the Fortrose
Estuary. Bluff, the
gateway to Stewart Island, is approximately a 50 minute drive.
There are many attractions to be enjoyed
without getting in the car including your own private bush walk and the
